KEEPING YOUR JEEP ON THE LINE,
AND KEEPING HISTORY ALIVE
Not every jeep needs major surgery but quite often just getting them set up just right is all that’s required
I can service and tune as well as set up carbs to get the best out of the engine, its amazing how many are not!
Other general work includes exhausts , brakes, tyres and clutches. I source the best products from suppliers who I can work with and I have a good feel for what works etc.
Service & Mechanical covers a whole host of things of which there are too many to list here but please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
While everyone wants their jeep to be as period as possible there are some areas where modern driving requires modern methods.
I can upgrade to alternator from generator , electronic regulated fuel pump, indicators with dash warning light and brake master cylinder remote reservoir, plus modern tow/trailor lighting.
I can also swap out your M201 (Hotchkiss) ignition system and replace with wartime specification distributer and coil which are 100% better.
I can also upgrade the old 6/12v regulator for a modern unit which sits neatly behind the standard cover. And any or all rewire requirements.
Another passion of The Command Post is going to events and showing the public a small selection of vehicles and equipment from the period that was WW2
We focus on the 807th recon Tank Destroyer Regiment. This now disbanded regiment was originally created to counter the mighty German armour in the ETO
Our display is based on interaction with the public, and explain how all our kit works and what part it played. We like to educate and inform and often run quizzes for the kids to take part in.
We are based in the North of England so local events work better for us but we are not restricted to WW2 events.
Please contact us for more information.
I have been stripping and building Jeeps for over 10 years now and I love making them sound and work as they should.
My passion for this fundamental little vehicle goes way back to the 70’s when I got my first model die cast Jeep, and I was hooked from there.
Before I got my first real jeep my background was racing and taking part in long distance adventure motorcycling so I have no fear of holding a spanner
My first jeep was a baptism of fire as the engine blew up three weeks after I bought it. I then bought a second jeep and started taking it to pieces to learn how they tick and the rest is history.
Since then I have worked on many jeeps carrying out procedures from service work to full restorations.
I have my own purpose built workshop in a secure and private location and carry basic service parts.
I’m available to chat to anytime about whatever you need.
